In 1904 Walter Williams was commissioned to write a history of Missouri for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition, in honor of the centennial of this major expansion of the territory of the United States which brought us the State of Missouri. This is the first page of that publication's two page section on Taney County, when Forsyth had all of 204 residents!
